Jesus is coming soon!

Jesus when talking about the signs of the end said, "…When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?" (Matthew 16:2,3). We may not know the day or the hour that Jesus is going to return but we can certainly discern the times, the season. And truly God wants us to be able to discern the signs. When speaking of His return, Jesus said, "...what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch" (Mark 13:37). We are to watch for His return as believers and exhort those that do not know Christ regarding His imminent return.

There are many signs that the Bible refers to with regards to the return of Jesus. If I were to expound upon all of these prophecies I do not believe that there would be enough paper in the world or strength in my hand to pen them. To that end, I would like to speak from a bird’s eye view. God, when addressing Daniel about "the end," or the end of this age, (something that will take place before the one thousand year reign of Christ- Revelation 20:6), said, "But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased" (Daniel 12:4). One of the major overarching happenings that will take place, effecting the fulfillment of other prophecies contained in the scriptures, is the increase of knowledge, technology, connectedness, and communications.

Consider, for instance, the technology necessary for the type of mass destruction that the book of Revelation describes. Consider the technology that will be necessary for a mark that helps regulate secure commerce globally, the mark of the beast. Or simply consider the international connectedness that would be necessary for the Antichrist to create a false world-peace. Now take a hug step back and with a simple, childlike faith look at the world throughout all ages, all civilizations, from the very beginning, and realize that never before in the history of the world has such advanced technology existed as to facilitate the apocalyptic events contained in the Bible. Never before have we had a bomb that could wipe out entire civilizations, by "we" I mean the United States as well as all the other nations of the world that have, or are suspected to have, the bomb. Never before in the entire history of civilization has technology, like that found within the smart / omni chip, existed which could regulate commerce securely on a global scale. Never before have we had the technology to "completely destroy" ourselves and to blot out the sun and the stars in the process (Matthew 24:29).

I do not know the day or the hour but I see the signs of the times. I know the season. I truly believe that the end of this age is upon us. I look at the sky and it is red and lowring; I know that foul weather is here. However, let’s, just for the sake of argument, say that Christ is not going to return any time soon. That doesn’t change the fact that we will still be accountable to God at our death; we will still have to answer the one question: “Did you accept my Son’s sacrifice for you?” Is Jesus Christ your Savior? Would you like to ask Him into your heart right now?

Just pray this simple prayer:

Jesus, I repent of my sins; I turn from them and ask you to come into my life. Jesus, I make you Lord upon the throne of my life right now. I believe in you, that you died for me and that God raised you up from the dead. Holy Spirit, enter me now. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
